BOOM!

Since the last post we have experienced an overwhelming amount of support from so many of you…so much support that it leaves us speechless & teary eyed multiple times a week.  I cant even tell you how many times, after yet another person offering prayer or financial support, that Jay and I have looked at each other and cant think of anything to say but “Really? Wow!”   Our hearts are overflowing with gratitude and what a ride its been to DAILY see God working out this plan of His for His glory.

I wish we could sit down and share ALL the amazing things God has orchestrated in the last few weeks.  I made a very BOLD prayer request list before we ever shared Gods leading us to adopt and in no time at all He has answered all of them but one.  But that ONE is that all 6 of us Hughsies would be able to travel to Africa when its time to pick up our kids and we still have time for God to answer that prayer too!

We are feeling appreciation, gratitude, humility, peace and support in a way we have never experienced before.   THANK YOU so much for being the hands…the feet…the heart of Jesus in our lives.

We have exciting news..

No, kids yet, so if you jumped that far ahead I hate to disappoint you with whats about to be shared. 🙂
I packaged up and shipped our Dossier packet to the adoption agency today!  Seriously, people, this feels as big as giving birth!  This is the end of mass amounts of paper work!  Sure, there will be other things to fill out later but the Big DOG is out of the way!  YAY!

We have MORE exciting news….

We received word today that our Dossier will most likely be shipped to Burundi next week to be translated!  This is HUGE because we don’t have an approval notice from Immigration yet (should in 30-50 days) and usually the country wont accept the Dossier for translation until Immigration has approved BUT they have said they will accept it so that they can begin the translating!  This actually saves us about 2 months of waiting!  I found out about it in an email from Jay today:

Timing on Dossier translation:  Julie (our agency contact gal) was excited to share: We DO NOT need Immigration Approval to start translation!  Julie will review our Dossier within 24 hours of receipt of it, and then immediatelysend for translation!  BOOM! -Jay

I love how he says BOOM at the end cause translated that means: God did it again!
Honestly I’m embarrassed at times by my surprise when God moves in such awesome ways…and I m not using the word awesome lightly.  We really have been in awe over how God has moved to accomplish His plan.  Why am I EVER surprised by what God does?  He can move mountains for heavens sake and I’m surprised when He moves in the hearts of men to favor us???
I believe God has been preparing me over the last 3 years to see Him at work in the little things in order to believe with pure joy the giant things that He was about to do in our lives.  Through some difficult years I began the practice of writing down, every single day, things I was thankful for and ways I saw God working in my pain & struggle.   This was life changing for me.  It made God so much bigger and myself smaller in my own heart. My desire to be in control of my own life is slowly fading and the craving to see God moving in me and through me is addictive. Only God can satisfy.
So far He has not provided the way I had it all planned out in my tiny little brain (still learning) but thank goodness cause its been WAY better than we could have imagined.  I plan on getting to the point where I can say “Of Course God did it this way or that way…there is no better way!”  He is THE GREAT GIFT GIVER!
